Very few men in Southern Appalachia served in this war. Canton, Cherokee Co., GA was as far north as enlistment camps were established in GA. Some TN men served, but so far, AAG has only found a microfilm of them, not a transcribed or printed version. |

The University of Texas at Arlington Special Collections Library has one of the largest and most comprehensive holdings of Mexican War books and other printed materials in the United States.
